Futureintech is all about increasing the number of young New Zealanders engaged with Maths, Science and Technology learning and interested in careers in technology, engineering and science.
We work with schools in most parts of New Zealand, including Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu and Canterbury regions as well as main urban centres.

Ambassadors are role models
Our main focus is on bringing people who already work in technology, engineering and science-related industries into schools. Our Ambassadors are trained to share their experiences and pathways with your students, illustrate the relevance of what they're learning in Maths, Science and Technology classes, and inspire them to explore careers in areas where there is strong demand for people with the right skills.

Facilitators link industry and schools
Our Facilitators understand how schools work and have a network of support from local industries. They recruit, train and coach Ambassadors to deliver engaging and relevant presentations and activities in schools, and can support teachers and careers advisers to enhance their programmes.

Visits come in different forms
We can work with you to organise a visit that meets your needs. You might want a presentation that illustrates the relevance of your curriculum area to career opportunities, an interactive activity or practical demonstration, or mentoring for an ongoing project that challenges your students.

Projects and initiatives we support
Futureintech Ambassadors can support and mentor individual students and teams working on projects for competitions such as the Transpower Neighbourhood Engineers Awards, the NZIFST/CREST Student Product Development Challenge (food technology) and Bright Sparks (electronics), and Science Fairs.

New Ambassador-led activity programmes
We're developing new programmes that you can use to engage your students in hands-on learning in maths, technology and science subjects. Over a series of visits, Ambassadors will guide students through hands-on activities using simple, 'real world' applications of technology, engineering and science to solve problems. The first programme is now ready to use, and challenges students to use maths to plan and design a flying fox.
